hour of the wolf

Hello.  Woke up a whole back because my arthritic foot was sore.  sitting here, noodling, fiddling with bits of a new issue of Psychodaleks fanzine.  Hmm, don't have a suitable title font, will scan in old cover and adapt.  Still a bit blown away by Armageddon con on weekend, We all went, first con I've been to where a major con sponsor sold swords, so lots of con goers wandering about with wooden katanas and those big Japanese sword/club things in silver painted wood, from final combat games.  Amazing all these t-shirted con goers with swords over their shoulders and no trouble or concerns about weapons, that I could see.   We had a good time, saw a stylish new Superman/Batman animated movie and watched the Robot Chicken panel, which was fun.  I love being able to catch up with new movies or TV shows at cons.  The only reason I saw Total Recall in a cinema was that it was a con preview screening, with profits to charity.  That used to be a cool feature of Natcons, but films have fallen away.  so here we are in Jeff's shed, with hundreds of attendees, looking at lots of costumed con goers, wondering if we could afford various merchandise (Got a huge Warner Bros Big Bang Theory/Chuck coming to DVD promo bag for $20) and just having a good time.  cost $40 for the Saturday.  Sure it was a commercial show and autographs were $30, but there was lots to do and see.  Serious Warners emphasis, saw a good Batman hall costume--bet he was hot.  It was fun, said "hi" to a few people we knew.  In the big space sound was an issue, we had to move closer to the front to hear the movie over a presentation next door, but these large spaces like jeff's shed are like that.  We will go again next year, perhaps with a little more money.   Nice to see the Back to the future II display and DeLorien car--it really does have stainless steel  skin, like an up market fridge.  Interesting.
