Pre Penticton Trip

So, I haven't written in over a week. I thought I should do a little update for my sake not so much as yours. I finished Harry Potter that night that I wrote my last entry and honestly I don't think I could have been more disappointed. Not upset with the quality of writing, but with the sad plot. I cried for the last two chapters and have been devastated for the past week. How could J.K. Rowling do that?! I would love to spoil the story for those who haven't read the book, but I know that everyone deserves to experience the trauma for themselves. Sigh, so that Thursday night was a depressing one.
Friday I woke up and felt like I had nothing to do. No more Harry to pass the time with, but the sun was still beaming. I don't exactly remember what I did that day. I think I might have run errands for the first time in my life. Yah, that's it. I dropped my mom off at the Sticky Wicket then went to the mall to check on my hours and I printed out some resumees that I didn't actually get around to handing out for good reasons. Then I went grocery shopping for ingredients I needed for a peanut butter cheesecake (to Andrew's disgust). I baked that cake with love and care. I was also in a rush 'cause I had to pick up Mom, then drive us home, then get ready for our final baseball game, then get to the field downtown. So, the cake got burnt do to my rush. I had cut the ingredients in half, but I didn't cut the cooking time in half. Man, it would have been perfect if I hadn't screwed up. Anyways, we won our first baseball game.. YAAY, but lost our second, BOO. That meant that season was over. In the first game I hit a double and brought in two runs. It was a delightful feeling until I got nailed like three times in the leg with the ball and then this guy decided that he had to tag all 115 pounds of me with a full force jab in the ribs. I actually called him a dick, "Calm down you frigging dick, gosh!" I mean if I was deeking him out and like making it difficult to catch me I can see a little bit of pain being a necessity, but I was basically walking towards him with my hands up in the air. Over competitive freaks.. pff..not me at all.
Anywaaays, Saturday. Oh right, I was quite the bitter bitch on Saturday. I woke up early to call in to work to see if they needed me. I hoped they didn't need me for the five hour shift because I had half planned to go fishing with Justine and Andrew. Since it was my last chance to hang out with Andrew before he left for a month, and I hadn't seen Justine for a long time, I was quite choked when they actually needed me to work. Then my dad and I got in a fight because I was being a spoiled brat by complaining about work. It wasn't just about work though. It was the stupid cheesecake, my increasing desire to go to Penticton not being met and the fact that I hadn't worked all week, but the one day they need me I actually had something good to do. So I went to work teary-eyed and grumpy, but you have to leave your problems at the door which I actually did. Work wasn't so bad, kind of fun I admit. I had to get my denim license so that meant I had to study the denim walls and write a test and then try on all the jeans. Then I got a free keychain and a 10$ pair of nice jeans. I also got my first fifteen minute break. I felt so cool. Then I went out for a special dinner and was ready to pass out by midnight.. which I did.
Sunday I went to Sidney Spit which was alright. I dunno. I figured it would be more fun, but I also didn't have much time there before I had to go to a staff meeting. I wouldn't mind going again with a big group of people and camping over night instead of walking around for an hour before having to leave. So I had my first staff meeting at AE which was alright. All I had to say was "My name is Jocelyn, I've been working here for three weeks and something interesting about me. Umm,(face turning bright red) I moved here from Penticton where you'd have to drive an hour to find an American Eagle." I sat down and felt like a fool, but I was thankful I had to say nothing else. I went to a big family dinner afterwards and had a mini gambling night before I went home early to pack for Penticton. I almost didn't go again, but I figured if I have a free ride there I might as well take it even though I would only get four days of Penticton before I had to be home.
Whew, so that was my life before Penticton. Seems like a lot more in words than it really was. So, I'm going to take this chance for a break before I write about Penticton because that will be like a short story. Werd.
