Tangled twisted love affair
Shape-shifter with manipulation for its greatest pastime
Did you ever have your face turned in my direction?
The air pushes me further and faster
Filtering me with all your secrets with each brush-
And incorporation into my body
Swirling and undulating through the course of my veins does it all become clear-
Love has lost its meaning
Photographs of years past framed across my walls
Nostalgia prevailing; hunger for simplicity
Time, why have you quickened your pace on me?
Stop moving faster than I can grow
With pain and misfortune of magnitudes
Of more than I need to know
Tomorrow with its false hope
Creeping closer with every strained breath
Oh getaway car
Have your way with me
I’ll light up that cigarette and let my hair down
And you’ll drive me far away from here
Because I refuse to let this get the best of me
Winter’s chill has left me lonesome and bare
And one more broken frame is all I have left to spare.
