when your heart crashes, your entire body stops.
step. halt. panic.
break.
the illusion of control is gone
with the collision
into the barricade of hope
fall back
your body, shattered
sharp, jagged fragments
represent the remains
of a once capable and loving entity
regrettably
no disclaimer was made
to inform that love
is too frequently used
for one’s own advantage
and selfishness.

what is there left to believe in
when love deceives you
