SONNET XXIX by: William Shakespeare

Aug 31, 2006 22:07

When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf Heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featur'd like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least:
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,--and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
   From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings'.

isa pa tong the best din!! hahaha.. knina lang tinuro... pero ito lang yung main points sa sonnet na to... :))

  • when we are hurt, or when we have problems we tend to think that everything is not going your way. maraming negative things sa mind mo. Minsan pa nga may despair kasi feeling mo ALONE kasi.. then there's envy kasi alam mong yung ibang tao masaya. We tend to compare what we do not have sa mga taong meron...which leads to discontentment... :))
  • sa mind natin puro negative thoughts... pero may kaisa-isang positive. Parang inspite of the ugliness there is something beautiful. Yung positive thing na yun MEMORY which is something good and beautiful.
  • yung thought lang na you are loved positive na un... hindi mo naman kailangan ng mga taong magmamahal saio eh! all you need is one, and that person will make you feel wanted cause you belong to that person one way or the other... (it can either be your boyfriend, friend... anyone)
  • friend see something in you that is worth all the time.
