Author’s note: This is a Roy and Lisa fanfic, you are warned. If you don’t want to read this please don’t. I wrote this because I have always think that Roy is an awesome character and that he and Lisa will make a wonderful couple if it weren't for Claudia. In order for this fic to work Roy never died in the episode “Farwell Big Brother”

Hmmmm, Jo, it works fine. I don't think to need to change anything. But I'll tell you why I felt that way. It's like this, for example, when you wrote:"...the last thing he was aware of was her warm breath against his neck saying his name." The way you described this gave it a romantic, very subtly sensual feel on Roy' part.

When you describe Lisa's actions and thoughts, here:

"Why did she feet so protective of him? ... If only she could glue his pieces back together and spare him the pain she had suffered once, when she had lost Karl ... was nothing she could do and that hurt her. Slowly and carefully she made sure that he was well covered and turned off the lights ... picked up all his clothes and put them in the laundry machine. Then she returned to the bedroom, where she sat in a chair on the other side of the room and covered herself with a blanket as she guarded Roy's sleep."

Her protectiveness, how she wants to spare him a pain she felt once, how she covered him (like a child), how she cleaned her clothes and guarded his sleep all speak to me of motherly affection, or friendship, a pure love. Lisa didn't have one itsy bitsy dirty thought about him (and he was wearing only a towel...) I think if you add a very (and I mean very) subtle reference like you did with Roy, we could see that Lisa is not immune to his manly charms. *wiggles eyebrows* :D

The closing scene of the chapter has both of them in more even ground. She caresses his cheek and he cherishes the contact. When they look into each other eyes, it seems that they are starting to realize the nature of their feelings for one another, hence the awkwardness they feel afterward.

So, even if the middle scene didn't have romantic feelings from Lisa's side, the closing scene did somehow make up for that.

I totally see what you mean. and it makes perfect sense.
But don't worry Lisa will not remain immune to Roy's manly charms for too long.
Thanks again hon for this, I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to write such a thorough review :)
