(no subject)
Busy month... Or should I say months. Not much went on in March. Linz and Matt came for a visit on Saturday. Then it all went down hill... Elijah got the flu, then everyone, except Joe, got sick in various ways. I was getting very little sleep because I worked full time, was waking up with Caleb in the middle of the night, going to various activities that I'm involved in and taking care of Elijah. Apparently my immune system bottomed out and I got the flu. Fun times... Then it got better.
I thought I was over the flu, but was still kinda feeling crappy, so one day I got a really really bad sore throat. It felt like someone had put barbed wire in there, so I thought I had strep. Turns out it wasn't strep, but a really bad throat infection. Antibiotics fixed me right up. It took 3 weeks, but right before April we were all feeling 100% again.
April went as usual. Met up with Michael and Mina finally. We had to postpone probably 5 times (not exagerating), but it finally happened and it was a lot of fun. We went down to visit Joe's family a few times, which is always nice. And my sis had her skating show the last weekend of the month. It was exciting because this is the first year she is the assistant teacher. She has a acheived her goal of getting paid to skate. Haha.
However the down part of having family members in charge of things is that I get roped into helping... Every. Time. My sister and mom volunteered to do the programs... Well, I might as well have volunteered myself, because I was in charge of editing them, cause my mom didn't know what she was doing in publisher. Then they volunteered to do a powerpoint slide show and I had to help with that also. It's really "whatever", but I just find it funny. But yes, anyway after all of that, the show was really good and entertaining. Elijah gets to skate next year (if he wants to) and will possibly be in the show. I'm a little excited, but not getting my hopes up.
With that, it brings us to May. Things have been rolling. I can't believe it's already the 21st. We started out the month going to a Mexican place for Cinco de Mayo. The food was awful. I hate to say it, but it's true. I didn't even take leftovers... that's how bad it was. The next day we went to a welcome home party for a soldier who is the husband of a woman I know from MomsConnect. Then that night I took Elijah to the "cast party" for the roller skating show. We got to go because of my sis. Elijah enjoyed himself for the most part.
The next weekend was Mother's Day. We went down his parents' house on Saturday to celebrate with his mom, then we stayed up at our house for mine and my mom's Mother's Day. We went to the Manhattan Grill and May must be the month of crappy food, cause this food was yucky also. *sigh* I got a homemade piece of art from both Elijah and Caleb, so I was happy.
That brings us to this past week/weekend. I hopefully will update a little bit more tomorrow.
