Yesterday... I Sold Out!
That's right. Last night, at approximately 5:40pm, I purchased a MacBook.
I thought I could hold out longer. I thought Microsoft would SURELY get in check with their much hipper, prettier, suaver, faster, easier, nemesis. Sadly, Vista was not hip, pretty, suave, fast, or easy. Or so I've been told (thank you thatames!).
True, I'm so used to everything Windows does. Especially the short-cuts. I HATE mice. True, there's some programs I will surely miss, especially some video games.
But, truth be told, after hours of exploration on my new Mac, and I haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though, I'm kinda tempted to cover up my Apple logo. I get so annoyed with all those people flinging their apple products around like they are SOOOOOOOOO cool. Which, some of 'em are, but do they really have to be boastful about it?
Here's the thing. Two and a half weeks ago, on April 5th, at about 3pm PST, my Dell crashed for the second time. Last time it was 2 years old. This time 5. Last time, the warranty still covered it. This time, I had let that lapse due to being poor. Both times due to Trojan Horses. GAH! And there's the rub. Having to not only purchase anti-virus software separately, but then pay that same amount EACH YEAR to renew the contract. And spy-ware, and firewalls, and having to pay for extra protection. (I had a 'state of health care' analogy I was going to use, but will refrain...). I just feel safer with an Apple. And I know it'll take care of me.
I am really digging it though. It's so fast, and LIGHT! and just plain nifty! And MOST importantly, I can finally WRITE on a computer again!
