But I agree with what you are saying. You have to take in account a lot of things when it comes to I guess dating people. Personality alone cannot be something to base who you want to date (unless you are okay with dating all your friends I guess whom you think have good personalities...I could see in some cases this would work).
Attraction is a factor, however this doesn't neccesarily mean attraction has to be vain. It's kind of confusing. Like in my case, phsyical qualities don't play a large role, but it does to some extent. I guess you could say preferences (I like people who are hygenic, well-groomed (not neccesarily using makeup or good hair or anything just not like a slob...).
I, myself, do prioritize personality over looks. But not just any "hey they're nice" type thing, otherwise I guess I'd be trying to date most my friends, but a lot of factors of the personality.
We're animals. And we look for the qualities in a person that we find would be the most fitting for mating and passing on genes to our offspring. If conversation is what floats your boat, then I guess you're looking for that. If it's appearance you want, personality, if they smell nice, if they like horror movies, if they like marriage, if they're Hindu, a combanation of everything- it's all just personal mating rituals.
