More on the house

As my LJ makes clear, the focus on the house hunt and sale is looming large in my life.

I loved one condo downtown but the the fees were pretty high and didn't cover anything other than trash removal and snow removal.  Between the condo fees and taxes, the new payment would equal my current house payment before even adding in the actual mortgage. :(

The other condo was...not good.  Well, the location was great and the price was on the low end, but the floor plan was strange and the  kitchen would need to be redone.  And it's actually less floor space than my current home, which is quite small.  Nope.  Could not get out of there fast enough.

Then on to a beautiful house in Oakenshawe.  I hadn't really thought about the neighborhood, but it would work.  Gorgeous house, loved the old details and the updates the owners put in.  Felt a little ~meh~ about the yard but loved the kitchen and bathroom.  It's priced a little over my max budget; my realtor thinks it's overpriced but there's not much inventory right now.

My to do list:
  • white baskets for bathroom stuff, bedroom bureau, and canisters stored on top of the fridge
  • find someplace to store laptop out of sight during the day so it doesn't walk away
  • buy hangers for two things left to hang
  • put random bits and bobs in basement
  • more book purging
  • put toaster, etc., in basement for photographs, okay to have out for daily showing
  • put table leaves in basement
  • put coat tree in basement (I really do not like this last)
  • buy sheers for the den
  • buy a bunch of green apples for the bowl on the dining room table
There are two houses in Reservoir Hill that I want to see at some point.  And I'm keeping an eye on the Oakenshawe listing and one in my neighborhood that I really liked -- I'm kind of surprised it hasn't gotten offers yet.

baltimore, home stuff
