I fell in love with a boy...

Grey's Anatomy - this is not right.  Crying that hard at 9 in the morning is just too much for me.  And I don't know what I'll do for a whole summer without you.  Without question my favorite season of that show has been season two but this season has by far trumped that one.  I think it's always wonderful when a series gets its footing back and just sails on through like nothing ever happened.  I wish Heroes would get a kick in the ass like that.

So this week has sort of been a week of redemption on my reality television programs.  Most of the shows I try to catch have had some truly disappointing eliminations in the past few weeks (Dancing With the Stars - Lil' Kim, American Idol - Allison and Matt, Make Me a Supermodel - Amanda, Kerryn) but this week I have gotten my revenge because some truly undeserving people finally went home (DWTS - Ty, Idol - DANNY!!!, MMS - Jordan).  Oh how the mighty have fallen; though I must say I was literally shocked to find out that Danny went home because it was truly an unexpected moment as I never get to see the villain lose until the final show.

I've been re-living my childhood as of late through DVD's.  I've been purchasing movies that I can sort of remember as a child and just living in the luxury of watching them again and feeling all tingly because those were happier times.  In recent months I bought Mannequin, Noises Off!, Spaceballs, The Great Muppet Caper, Weekend At Bernie's and just this past week I bought Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer (bring a shining light to every day...) and Supergirl (it's still awesome to me, thanks).  You should see the smile on my face while watching them.  I plan on getting some Duck Tales, Thundercats, maybe Sixteen Candles and St. Elmo's Fire.  Life is awesome!

I also bought a movie that I'd wanted to see for awhile thanks to a review I read in Entertainment Weekly and have actually heard about but could never find it for rent - Shelter.  Oh My God.  This movie is a must-see.  I mean like seriously.  I've seen all the cliche-driven gay movies, romantic stories, drama-filled weep-fests but, thankfully, this one breaks the rules.  There's no suicidal moments, no overly feminine guy running around with his slutty friends and bad choices in relationships.  And the guys are real guys which is nice because I get tired of the massively inaccurate media take on men, especially men who love other men.  It's gross because not everyone is a Mary Sue, emotional rollercoaster riding, wrist flicking, boy-crazed little girl.  This movie shows that.  It's just a realistic, overall good movie.  I highly reccommend it to those who don't want the usual stuff... just the grade-A goodness.
