singapore bound

May 14, 2006 16:57

I just finished purchasing plane tickets for Singapore; Janet and I will be going at the end of June and staying for a little over two weeks. We'll get to see even more of the country and spend some time with her family. I'll also get some first-hand research done for the Tower novel. I can't wait!

Wow, this is shaping up to be an incredibly busy summer. Here's the itinerary as it stands now:

1. WisCon, Madison, WI, May 26-29

I'll be a guest (participating on panels, giving a reading) and Janet will have work in the Art Show. Yay WisCon!

2. Young Writers' Workshop, Raleigh, NC, June 12-23

I'll be teaching the youngsters again all about the fun of writing science fiction and fantasy.

3. ChuiCon, Singapore, June 26 - July 12

Time with the fam-in-law and novel research. Whee!

4. Trinoc*con, Raleigh, NC, July 21-23

Janet and I are both guests again, and this year hosts DeepSouthCon, which features groovy writers like John Kessel, Gene Wolfe, David Hartwell, Jim Kelly, Jim Grimsley, and many others.

5. DemiCon, Des Moines, IA, July 28-30

Janet is the Artist Guest of Honor (Yay Janet!), and other than maybe being on a few small panels, I'll be her gopher and arm candy.

Whew. A lot of stuff for one summer, but I'm excited about all the traveling. Somewhere in there I hope to get some significant work done on the Tower novel, and Janet and I are also cooking up our next Two Cranes Press project (which we're hoping to reveal at WisCon).
