2008 was an exciting year in our household.
First of all, we HAVE a household. We were joined together in legally wedded bliss on June 29. Our ceremony was witnessed our closest friends and family and of course a host of Hollywood A-listers. After much deliberation and a multitude of options, we decided to sell the photo rights to People magazine. Their staff was just so friendly, and the Porche they sent to seal the deal was adorable. Guests enjoyed the oceanfront view and danced the night away to music by Barenaked Ladies and The Four Seasons.
Returning back after our honeymoon, we had some major job changes in store. Mike was promoted to the point where he can now work from home. In the 20 hours a day he is NOT working, he creates video games, practices his Russian language skills, and crochets hats for babies. I continue to teach … yet I decided it wouldn’t be right to accept a paycheck for a job I love so dearly! The smiles on the kid’s faces are payment enough each morning. In my spare time I continue to write children’s books and work with Oprah in her world-peace-seeking endeavors.
Since we’ve been married for just about 6 months now, it’s of course time to start thinking about children. And by that we mean finding the perfect preschool. Admission competition is tough, so we’ve already put in applications for “Baby Girl H” and “Baby Boy H.” (Because, of course, we’ll have twins.) While it’s hard to pinpoint the strengths they’ll possess, we’re confident they’ll be overachievers and fit into “Harvard Tots” nicely.
We hope your year was as exciting as ours, and we look forward to seeing you in 2009!
