Poor Peter - Rose will not be pleased - but then she has a dangerous job and expects him to deal with it, so I don't think she'll kill him... unless she finds out about the coin toss and him ignoring his instinct to run!!

But look at him having a new friend and enjoying work :-) Bless him.

*g*

But look at him having a new friend and enjoying work :-)

He's so very much like a little boy, sometimes, isn't he?

Next thing you know he'll be sharing his Hot Wheels with Elias and they'll start trading lunches. XD

I so called it! Hee. A bomb and a body. Okay, half called it since it was two bombs and two bodies. Still... I'm really getting a kick out of the evolving realtionship between Peter and Elias and was grinning at the little scene where they promised not to tell each other's women what had happened with the bombs.

I love watching Peter, I don't know, wake up to a real friendship with someone like he seems to be doing with Elias. And enjoying himself, being happy in his professional life is really nice. Poor boy still misses his Rose, though. *pets him* Oh, and I think he was very wise to take the originals of the reports because I'm suspecting someone in the police may be in on things. But maybe that's just my suspicious mind. Anyway, great chapter.

That you did. ;)

Hurrah! EGT made the comment, in her beta of this chapter, that ASTG is really a bit like a buddy movie. And, well...it is.

being happy in his professional life is really nice.

*sigh* Yeah. It's a shame that it's taken him so long to actually hit that point in his career, though.

and had been watching the lately arrived explosive disposal unit do their work

ah, so not a body then.

Peter hadn’t been able to get out of the house fast enough

I know I should be concerned that our dear DI might have gotten himself exploded, but I can't help but giggle at the image of him and his gangly appendages wriggling to get back out the window really quickly. hee.

He was a bloody idiot.

well yeah you are, but at least give yourself a bit of cushioning before Rose and others come down on you for it.

Yes. Rose was going to kill him…assuming she found out.

she'd find out somehow, even if no one else told her, one day it would slip out.

“Who’s the idiot as decided it would be a good idea to go in?”

Peter shifted guiltily, avoiding the man’s gaze; Elias stayed silent.

“You’re bloody idiots, the both of you.”

sporfle. mischievious boys to the end, the pair of them *ruffles their hair*

The doors were wired to a series of small canister bombs, chock full of nailsouch. Good thing Rose didn't find you in hospital full ( ... )

ah, so not a body then.

Well, not at the front door at least.

but I can't help but giggle at the image of him and his gangly appendages wriggling to get back out the window really quickly. hee.

I daresay his exit was more PiC-y, than his entrance. Poor Peter! ;)

mischievious boys to the end, the pair of them *ruffles their hair*

I always seem to picture them as little spaniel puppies, rolling around, playing, tails wagging...

Good thing Rose didn't find you in hospital

...or the morgue.

I imagine the dimples of grievance came out for that one,

Mmmm. Dimples. *mind drifts*

I can only imagine she must be enjoying herself....just a little bit ;)

Out of the three of them, I think Ruby is the one having the most fun.

bet they don't have one of those in Kendal

That they don't.

I love seeing him work his way in hesitant steps through the formation of this friendship.

It's relatively new territory for him, I think. At least since Blackpool...

That's really the crux of this story isn't it? It's frightening yet comforting to ( ... )

Seeing as how she's on the Met already, do the three of them regularly make a team once Peter's on board?

Rose will re-appear soon enough ;)

ooOOooh.

I'm glad Peter finally has a friend, he needs more of them really... I mean, I know he has Annie, but if Rose isn't there he seems really alone. Ruby's cool too, I loved the bit where she was screeching at the poor PC.

Peter's circle of friends is very small. And while those friends that he does have are very, very close, and of long acquaintance....sometimes it's nice to have new friends, too.
