I know I should be concerned that our dear DI might have gotten himself exploded, but I can't help but giggle at the image of him and his gangly appendages wriggling to get back out the window really quickly. hee.

“Who’s the idiot as decided it would be a good idea to go in?”
Peter shifted guiltily, avoiding the man’s gaze; Elias stayed silent.
“You’re bloody idiots, the both of you.”
sporfle. mischievious boys to the end, the pair of them *ruffles their hair*
The doors were wired to a series of small canister bombs, chock full of nails
ouch. Good thing Rose didn't find you in hospital full of holes then.
“Two bodies in the back-quadrant C.”
ah, bodies, but not where expected. well assuming they are Judy's friends, they must have known something she did not.
“Yeah, got ‘em over the summer after an adventure with someone’s pet iguana,”
hee. I imagine the dimples of grievance came out for that one, of course until Rose kissed him better ;)
“I’m not a Sassenach.”.....Peter released a put-upon sigh, sliding them across the metal to Elias
oooh. someone's grumpy. To almost angsty teen levels even. understandable, but still amusing.
“That’s the one! The streaky bloke!” ........“Do you promise not to hit the nice DI?”
heheh, I can only imagine she must be enjoying herself....just a little bit ;)
“I reckon Rose likes it well enough.”
now I really can't wait for the day those two meet.

*rolls eyes* yes Peter, it's called job satisfaction, you may have heard of it ;)

Things were still a bit odd in this case-and until he knew things were not odd, he wasn’t sure he trusted the original copies of the report with anyone.

He’d thought, when they first met, that he’d never have got on with Elias outside of the case. Now? Now, he wasn’t nearly so sure that was true.
awww. I love seeing him work his way in hesitant steps through the formation of this friendship.
he lay back onto the bed, wondering if he’d ever get past that point, ever be able to be separated from her, unable to speak with her whenever he wanted, and not be a bit upset about it.
When had he become so dependent upon her for his personal happiness?
That's really the crux of this story isn't it? It's frightening yet comforting to be that attached to someone, especially for Peter with his history.
Oh I did love this chapter, there was the bombs, the Peter/Elias banter, the Ruby banter, and intriguing case developments. I do hope we get a glimpse of Rose soon, poor Peter could use a cuddle. Now, if only it were Monday :)
