commentary: advice please!
So I'm going to be doing a commentary for the story I've been posting, because I didn't want to weigh down the individual chapters with even more notes, and because there are some overall historical changes I made that didn't really belong to any one chapter. But, you know, I don't want to sound like a crazy self-entitled navel-gazer, either. So I come to you, O friend list.
I know commentaries are all the rage in some fandoms, but I've never really read one for something I was following. Whether you're reading the story or not, what do you look for in a commentary? What sort of things do you expect, do you think belong or definitely don't belong? Can you link me to commentaries you've liked?
