Lately i think that Kayak's is growing tired of me sitting here with my computer, and trying to flush me out with horrible music.  Yesterday they managed to find some sort of airport lounge station (do airport lounges still exist?) and today it's some sort of easy listening station.  I suppose I could put on my headphones but that defeats the purpose of being in a public place with ambient noise.  I've been spitting my work day between the library cafe and another spot, usually Kayak's but sometimes Panera.  Virtually no time is spent in the lab...far, far too quiet for me to function anymore.  It's been almost a full year since i've been back at WashU and working in that lab alone...and it was a year before that when i was working alone at UC Davis.  Luckily Sara was in the office a few days a week, but it's been a long time since i had coworkers around me.  I reeeeally can't wait to start at URS after Labor Day.

Only TWELVE more days of work at WashU after today.  That's really not much, but i think it's plenty of time to finish off this to-do list i have.  Then it's home for two weeks.  I know I was just there, but I'm excited to go back again.  The biggest downside to the new job is limited vacation time.  For the last three years Jay has been really flexible about time off, as long as I got my work done.  Now it'll be the vacation analog to "sponge-worthy."  Do I want to take a long weekend to visit Chicago?  I don't know, is it vacation day-worthy?

Ok time to head out...cooking dinner with the roommates tonight.  Mmmmmahi mahi.  Yummy :)
