Wherein I Ramble.

First off, I would like to thank everyone who commented on my previous post with warm messages or violent threats against misogynistic dickheads. When I saw all the messages in my LJ inbox, I couldn't help but tear up at all the support. So, thanks guys, I really appreciate it all.

Next, some people may have seen on Twitter that I've begun writing again. Yep yep, that's my new as-of-now-untitled WIP. I don't want to give too much info away, but it basically involves Sandmen, murders and the kidnapping of a Greek God. Yep, that pretty much sums it up for now.
I'm really excited by this project. It's the first one that I've written from a first person view, so it's got a very personal edge to it that I hope my main character will be able to make work. For some reason, I've included a whole heap of pop culture references, mainly Neil Gaiman's Sandman, The Matrix, and Alice in Wonderland. And I'm only about 6,000 words in. Whoops. Might have to cut some stuff out when I get to revising.

So, that's my life in a nutshell.

Next week, I'm going to a pop-culture expo, where I'll be seeing Tom Felton Draco Malfoy, Simon Pegg, Charisma Carpenter (who played Cordelia in Buffy!!!!!), Robin Hobb, and Isobelle Carmody (if you don't know who she is, I would seriously recommend you check out the Obernewtyn Chronicles, because they are fantastic)

I'm really bummed, because there's a few people who won't be going to the Melbourne convention, mainly Cary Elwes (ie. Westley from The Princess Bride), and my favourite Australian author ever, who wrote one of my favourite book ever: Kate Forsythe. :(

Also, Christopher Lloyd cancelled his appearance, which is sad-making. :(

But oh well! I'll just have to settle with my darling Draco Malfoy. :3

Until next time, my fellow LJers.

life, writing, new story, wip, awesome
