Why I'm quitting radio (well, probably sometime next year)

Ever since High School, maybe earlier, I've wanted to be in Broadcast Journalism. I followed that path in college, graduated with a BA in broadcast journalism and so far have held two on-air jobs in the broadcasting field. I'm good at my job, and I've enjoyed it--at least in part.

But is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? I've come to the conclusion that the answer to that is no.

Stability:
When you're in radio, you move around alot, from city to city, from station to station. That's just the way it is. Voluntarily, or forced, I just don't think thats what i want. I want to settle down in one city. And if there's a job I like, stay there. I'm already tired of moving, and I've only gone from DC to WV and back to DC. But if I want to keep moving up in radio (whatever that means), I'll probably have to keep going from city to city. I dont want that and I dont want that for a family I will hopefully have sometime down the road).

Pay:
Simply put, the pay in radio sucks. Years from now, its still going to be sucky. I know that people say if you find a job you like then it shouldn't matter, but...it does. Im having enough issues supporting just myself on my salary.

The thing is---I have no idea what else I can do, or what Id be good at. Like I said, I've been on this same path since college. This is what stresses me out the most. What field do I go into?

Anyway, just wanted to get all that out there. I'm not in a rush to leave my job, and i want to be very deliberate in my search for what's next. Hell, I don't know if I'm making the right decision...I don't know IF there is a right decision

I believe this is my deepest, and longest journal entry ever.

Oh, and How I met your Mother was awesome this week.

So, has anybody ridden a tricycle before?
