So, some of you have heard this story already, so feel free to ignore.
This concerns what should have been a fairly quick Greyhound trip back from Ocean City to Silver Spring, MD. But, in Greyhound's lexicon, the words "fairly quick" are nowhere to be found.
I board the bus on time at about 5:45pm in Ocean City. So far so good. The first stop was in Salisbury, MD, a stop that was supposed to last 10 minutes. But nooooo. Instead, we waited there for close to two hours. Why? Because a bus coming from Norfolk was late. So, rather than fuck things up for them, our bus driver decided that we were the ones that should be screwed.
So, around 10 o'clock we finally get to Baltimore - less than an hour from my destination, Silver Spring. I ask the ticket counter woman when the next bus is to Silver Spring. She replies "midnight."
So, I figured ok, i can wait around for 2 hours, listen to my ipod. Midnight comes and no bus. I go back up to her and she says "no, the next bus isnt til 7 am". As if thats not bad enough she says "I dont know why all you people keep saying I said midnight. I never said that."
Well, fortunately, she was wrong about 7am. A bus to DC came about 1 am. I got to DC at 2. But since Silver Spring was my final destination, i ended up having to take a cab for another 20 bucks. So, we're driving through ghetto DC, when a guy walks up to our car (i believe he's what is known as a crack head), and asks if we want to buy his boombox, which he holds up.
The cab driver replies "get out of my fucking way or I will run you and your boombox over". Fortunately, he moved out of the way.
I finally got to my apartment at 2:30am. My shift at work started a little after 3am.
And that concludes the story of my ride home.
The trip itself was awesome, I had a great time. The ride back sucketh.
And Greyhound is evil. Evillllll.
