Yet Another Apartment Complex

Daddy and Uncle Connor are off talking to this guy that looks just as stupid as the last three and smiles too much. So she wanders off 'cause she's bored and this place has the same layout as one of the earlier ones anyhow. She also wonders why they just can't bring Donna along if Daddy doesn't want the gay stuff anymore. It would be that easy

A chill runs down her back.

She hears someone approaching from up the brook, and can see a female shape, dressed all in white, approaching.

Uh oh...

That feeling is something she trust. she picks up her shoes and socks and starts moving away from the creepy lady.

As she looks up, she realizes that the apartment complex is gone. All around her, surrounding the stream, is a forest. The air is suddenly cold and chilly, and the trees in the woods are all lacking their leaves, their empty branches reaching up like bony fingers into the sky.

The woman walks through the water with very little sound -- just a slight ripple to mark her passing.

The woman is wearing some sort of white hood, and Lian can't see past it, to see the woman's face.

She books it. Now is not the time to ask. Now is the time not to get kidnapped again by yet another weird lady. Things aren't where they should be. Little Red Riding Hood comes to mind.

Lost niece

"Lian? Lian?"

Roy's off in one direction, Connor's off in the other. One look at the shape of the plumbing was the biggest tipoff not to rent this place.

However, when they were headed to the car, they noticed Lian wasn't following.

Corror sees Lian-size footprints going into a patch of trees near the complex. She was walking. Then, they abruptly vanish - so sign of strruggle - no set of second footprints.

"Lian!" Now, Connor is VERY worried.

He points to the footprints.

"I found her tracks, Roy, but...here, they just stop. No sign of a struggle, no sign of another person."

[washingwoman]

The form behind her picks up speed. She hears a quiet hissing sound now... and she is not certain if this comes from the woman's voice, or if it is the sound of her feet brushing across the dead leaves across the ground.

Whatever this woman is, she's moving quickly. Perhaps even faster than Lian.

Lian has no choice but to run. If she catches up, she'll fight like Aunt Kory. She won't be taken away from then again. Not with Donna back, and Luum flying, and Daddy doing this school thing. They will need her help. She just will not go! She won't! She won't! She won't!

Whatever this woman is, she's gaining...

And Lian runs headfirst into a large shape. A large humanoid shape... big and strong, and wearing a large brown trenchcoat.

She looks up...and up...and up...

"Lian?"

One minute, she wasn't there, and when he turns around, there she is.

"Kid, don't scare us like that. Where have you been?"

"I need to make a report to the Titans, Uncle Connor," is the only reply he gets - over and over and over again if she has to.

"Where'd you get off to?"

"Teleported, I think Dad. There's a stream over there. I went there cause I got bored and then some lady in white with no face started running after me." She frowned. "No noise though. Didn't move like Uncle Shortpants either so maybe she was magic. Anyway, she was scary so I ran. There was this big red guy named Hellboy with two flat things on his head, a big rock hand, and a trenchcoat and a big gun. He shot the lady 3 times but she didn't stay down until he shot her again close up. He called me princess and said he was with a team called the BPRD who got mad he wasn't checking in. Said I was the 4th thing teleported that week by some witch." She shook her head. "He was cool but he hadn't heard of us."
