Private Penthouse Party Players Peddling Poison...

May 05, 2011 08:31

Trance music was ambient in the air. Loud enough to set the tone of the scene, but not so much that it interfered with socialization or intimate conversation. The lighting was low and diffuse, coming from multiple sources and it added to the atmosphere. The open bar was facilitated by roving cocktail waitresses and waiters. Both guests and hosts ( Read more... )

It was then that three new arrivals came to the party, two women and a man ( ... )

Bonnie and Carmen are a gorgeous pair and even thier male companion has a square statuesque handsomeness about him, but they don't exactly fit the expected profile set by the hosts. This venue was for those who were 'old enough to know better but too young to care'. The new arrivals communicated 'predator' rather than 'prey'.

A smart looking young man in his early twenties glides his way to the trio. A nod of his head to some of the serving staff is not missed by the ladies.

"Hi there. I'm afraid this party is by invitation only." he gleams a colgate smile at them.

Halfway down the hall in an adjoining room, ears with hearing far beyond the scope and range of human beings catches the conversation.

Maintaining the vapid smile while clinging to his can of drug-free soder, Superboy listens.

Carmen turns to the young man and instantly turns on the charm, sleeking over to him. "Oh we know handsome, and we are sorry for intruding, but you see we have importnat things we need to talk to the host about." She allows her finger to linger over the man's cheek. "It's real important we see him. Could you help us find him, please?" When she said "please" her look practiclly smoldered with erotic promises.

A tight lipped smile goes along with the frosty look in his eyes. Several of the larger 'waiters' and serving staff have begun to assemble nearby. The beat of the trance music permeating the venue has thus far kept the conversation private. It's obvious he's deciding what the least disruptive course would be at this point.

A gracious gesture is made and he replies.
"Why don't we talk in the kitchen? The music isn't quite so loud there."

Bonny and Carmen exchanged a brief look. They had been partners in the assassination business for years. They knew a setup when they saw one. Still Carmen smiled, keeping up the appearance of a party bimbo.

"Sure, sounds good, let's go. Come on Albert!" Carmen called to the blond man. He merely groaned as he followed Bonny and Carmen, who themselves followed the man and his "assistants".

The kitchen gets cleared of staff. The 'guests' of the event have been kept away from this area of the penthouse purposefully and the intrusion of the mood music is much less here. The heavies that followed them in are arrayed to keep this meeting private and also to provide the host with an intimidating back up. Bonny and Carmen are professionals and can see the gun bulges hidden in the 'waiters' jackets.

The young well dressed host turns and faces them with a cool and slightly annoyed look.

"Well ladies, lets get the obvious out of the way. Are either of you, or the Swedish truck you brought with you, law enforcement?"

Bonny fought the urge to smirk. Wonder how tough this little shit would be without his "backup". She doubted any of the brutes had any professional skills except looking dumb and tough. They could take them all even without Krieger. The Body Doubles had a remarkable number of hidden weapons under such scandalous outfits and bring to bear any number of killing instruments in a second. Bonny and Carmen exchange a look, Carmen makes a signal with her eyes which ment Bonny should take point.

"No we're not cops." Bonny almost smiled, she was a mafia princess after all. "Our employer is looking to reestablish some order in the Gotham underground. He's learned about your business and would like to make you an offer. In exchange for kicking a quarter of the percentages to us, we provide you with both legal protection from the police and physical protection from the capes. Aside from the price, we'd also ask that you 'water down' your product. Corpses don't make good customers."

The charming host almost smiles too. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that's unacceptable. Our employer is not interested in sharing profits with anyone outside of the Chemists, and you're not quite in the club."

Folding his arms, the handsome man's eyes twinkle. "Now would you too lovely ladies like to leave quietly?"

The Body Doubles look at each other. Well, they tried. Bonny replied. "Sorry, but we can't do that. Take 'em!"

Bonny quickly reaches to her thighs were two 9mms were hidden. Carmen pulls several small knives from her tank tops. The boss wanted as little fatalies as possible, so the shot and three projectices at as many elbows and knees caps they could hit. The blonbd man remained frozen behind them.

It was at "Take 'em" when Superboy knew the undercover part was over. The wake in his path would certainly be disruptive, but he made sure it didn't harm anyone either.

He was through the door to the kitchen when the shots began to fire. The knives struck home but he managed to catch the bullet before it hit.

Suddenly standing among the small crowd of badguys...
"Hey. Am I interrupting?"

Carmen saw the guy enter the room. He was pretty good-looking. She felt a pang of annoyance that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. "Al, get rid of this guy!"

The blonde man turned to Superboy and went for a backhand to Kon's face.

The backhand connects, partly because Superboy was just not expecting it to do anything. Colliding with the refrigerator and subsequently caving it in, he looks surprised. His face stings.

Rubbing his jaw, he gets up from the wreckage with a smile.

"Oooookay.. you guys aren't regular drug dealing scum bags are you?"

"Al" doesn't respond to the comment or to the fact that Kon wasn't dead, and leaps at Superboy with a tackle.

Titans training and Superman's mentoring come into play.
There was a time when Connor would be throwing down right there in the kitchen, but he's learned a few things. Like how regular folks don't do so well in the middle of a super powered brawl.

So Superboy lets's the big man hit him with the lunging tackle. Rather than evade, he just grabs hold and flies backwards.

Combined with the blond's considerable momentum and Connor's flight, they blow straight through the wall and out into the night air.

It's the perfect time to cut loose with some heat vision too. Right in the face.
