Leading a party of mind-controlled Gotham civilians including a doped up Harvey Bullock, Godfrey makes his way through every street of the city. That's right, every street. Darkseid has tasked him with plastering every surface with his anti-life message, and the job is wearing down even the mentally subdued slaves.

"Work! Work! Work for Darkseid! Paint his message across the walls, and p-raise him! P-raise his name!!" Godfrey talks through clenched teeth. He doesn't have the conviction to his words that he normally carries.

A can of red paint explodes across the most recent message. The scarlet spatters everything and everyone in a twenty foot radius.

"Boo-Ya!" crows Superboy, borrowing the battle cry of a close friend.

Hovering high above, the Boy of Steel is carrying a makeshift bandoleer of paint cans liberated from a nearby hardware store. Robin said to mess up the wacky psychic graffiti without reading it.

This seemed like the way to do it.

At the same time a brace of Robin-styled batarangs, or 'bird-arangs' as some call them, come whizzing out of the shadows striking Godfrey in the back of the head.

"NOW!"

Richard Dragon descends amongst the mind-controlled throng - with his arsenal of non-lethal pressure-point attacks, this is the best place for him to strike at the moment, disabling civilians without lasting harm, before they can rally to Godfrey's defense.

Bane enters the fray, utilizes as many knockout blows as possible to avoid prolonged fighting that would only harm the civilians. He may not share the same honor system as the Batman, but he had his own code of ethics he would not stray from. He kept looking around, a paranoid part of his mind, thinking this was going too well.

Cicada wasn't as useful as the others in straight-up combat, rather he picked his spots. A man with a gun tries to shoot Robin, Cicada comes from behind and drains enough life to drop the man unconscious. A woman with a machete attempts to stab Bane in the back, Cicada repeats the process. Still, it was nothing compared to the euphoria he possessed when he drained Lashina. He wanted more, and he saw his chance, sneaking up behind Glorious Godfrey, intending to drain him dry.

"Death for Darkseid." Out of nowhere a controlled Harvey Bullock is behind Cicada with revolver in hand. He pulls the trigger.

Godfrey screams as the weapons strike him in the back of the head, and his voice carries with a piercing pitch. "You will all de-sist and kneel before me, fragile mortals! Kneel before my holy pow-ah!"

Where once Godfrey's words may have forced such a reaction, know there's only the slight twinge of a feeling of control. It's as if his powers have lessened. "P-raise me and kneel! Surrender and feel my joyous mercy!"

Damn. Hard to judge alien physiology sometimes. The batarangs would have rendered a typical human unconscious.

A bullet come close to hitting Robin. Fortunately he's using cover and movement to lower his target profile. It also helps that Cicada just dropped the shooter too.

The hint of compulsion in Godfrey's voice is chilling as Tim clears his head of it. He looks up at Kon and imagines for a moment Superboy falling under Darkseid's former herald's control.

Ok, not having that.

Robin breaks cover, runs at Godfrey and leaps into a flying sidekick at the alien's solar plexus. If it doesn't floor him, it'll at least knock the wind out of the gaudily dressed mesmerizer.

"Aiiieee!!" Godfrey crashes against the wall and slides to the ground. His famous endurance must be dissipating along with his powers of domination.

He's about to shout something from the sidewalk, but then gets a face of red paint as one of the tins thrown by Superboy explodes in his face. It disguises the scarlet of his skin as he bursts into a rage, and actually grabs at Robin's ankles. Godfrey tries to restrain the Boy Wonder while the anti-lifed mob converge on him.

That'll cost him.
One foot lifts, evading the grab and then comes down hard on the wrist of the hand that did latch onto Robin's other ankle.

No time to get clear of the mob though, so Robin turns and readies his fighting staff.

Dragon is there to back him up, using judo to hurl one member of the mob into another, to take some of the pressure off.

The heel to his wrist makes Godfrey cry out. The controlled minions are hurled to and fro by Richard Dragon, and knocked unconscious with ease by the Boy Wonder.

With the distraction of the mob, Godfrey releases Robin's ankle and attempts to crawl away from the melee.

Godfrey is suddenly hoisted into the air by his ankle.

"Hey, aren't you a villainous scumbag or did a mob of angry clowns dress you this morning?"

Superboy is probably a good twenty five feet above the ground as he poses these questions to the dangling herald.

"Aaiieeee!! It's the Kryptonian taken younger form! Second in power only to great Darkseid!!" Godrey would put his hand to his mouth in a pantomime gesture of horror, but his arms are flailing wildly.

"Darkseid save me, Darkseid save me, Darkseid save me..." Glorious Godrey mutters repeatedly, and closes his eyes. He stops when he receives no salvation. "My lord... Why have you abandoned me?"
