Gotham City General Hospital

The hospital ER buzzes into a flurry of activity as EMTs try desperately to peel the battered armor of a man who, mere moments before, apparently fell from the sky, crashing into Robinson Park. Ultimately, maintenance crews with welding torches were called in, and at long last the helmet comes off, revealing the battered and moustached face of a healthy, once-handsome middle-aged man.

At long last, a hospital administrator walks into the hospital lobby, where GCPD is waiting impatiently. One officer, who's been pacing back and forth, looks up at the exhausted doctor expectantly. The doctor knows what information the cop wants.

"The patient's name is Geoffrey Barron," says the doctor. "We found a wallet inside the armor. He's unconscious, but in stable condition."

The cop nodded. He'd already sent photos back to the station to get an ID on the armor. With the buzz of his phone, he knows he's going to have a whole lot of information, quickly. He nods to the doctor, and then signals for his partner to follow him.

"All right," he says. "Gotham Central says this guy was a superhero for, like, five minutes a few years ago. Went by the name 'Technocrat' and was a member of The Outsiders."

"Wasn't The Outsiders The Bat's old team?" says the partner, visibly not liking where this was going.

"Yeah," says the cop. "I think he was a little later, but it doesn't matter. Eventually, this ain't gonna be our collar."

They all know that, as soon as the Bat's involved, it almost immediately ceases to be their case. Except for the paperwork.

"So what's Central suggest?"

"They say to keep an eye on things here."

The cop frowns, and walks toward the coffee machine.

"I've got a bad feeling about this."
