( Fifteen minutes to the second after his first transmission ,the live feed from Guantanamo comes on.

The first image the nations that are viewing see is Brainwave, strapped to a tree in a manner that is meant to evoke images of the crucifixion of Christ. He is by all appearances unconscious. An off-camera voice speaks.)

At this point they hear a scream from Brainwave in their heads that could curdle blood before he can focus enough to communicate.

The shout snaps Sand awake and sitting upright...then he realizes how much pain he's in and snaps back downward, even with Tefe's hea..

"We've got her, she's kicking asses, shut up and let me heal you." She puts one hand in the center of his chest prepared to hold him down if he tries to get up any further.

With the missiles no longer an issue, Merlynne moves back towards Brainwave. A hand of light on his shoulder should start to negate the effects of the psychic poison.

She finally takes a confused look around, trying to count heads. "Where is everyone?"

Trevor comes our of a stand of bushes at least twenty feet from where he had been standing, rubbing the back of his head.

"Is it just the concussion talking, or did Triple-Bitch call me sweetheart?" Trevor begins, and then stops as his eyes widen.

"Corrine?"

Caleb just stands beside him, trying not to stare at Corrine, while inside he braces himself for the possibility that Corrine may soon turn on him. If she is hostile, he's in a world of trouble.

Merlynne's put the magic to work on Brainwave, but that's all she can do for now.

She doesn't expend the energy to walk across the field, but simply appears next to Hotshot. "Are you hurt?"

So many answers spring to mind, and only a few of them even touch on his physical condition, which can best be described as "slightly pimp-smacked." Trevor's jaw works soundlessly for a few seconds, and finally he shakes his head. "No, I'm good. Are *you* okay?"

She looks around Trevor, briefly glancing at Caleb. "I'm here and capable of helping. If neither of you need healing..."

Corrine doesn't say anything, but she doesn't exactly look happy when she slides away.

She re-appears where Ibn and Tefe are working on Sand. "How is he? Is there anyone else injured?"

He's feeling the residual effects of the poison spell in his teeth. But he's the least of the teams worries right now.

He hobbles over to the team. "Chimp's about 300 miles inland, and Ibn..." He points over to Ibn. "...has a broken arm. But that's not our primary issue right now. I'm getting residual thought patterns of the soldiers in Guantanamo...they're trying to decide whether or not they should try to detain us for questioning. On top of that, apparently the JLA are primed to come in, and they have to know the field's down by now. We need to get out of here."

And Caleb doesn't particularly feel like resisting an unlawful arrest, so:

"Ill retrieve the chimp," he announces just a little too fast before disappearing.

Sand's eyes, open. He's having a hard time speaking...thinking, however, is another matter.

"Hank....link..." he says weakly.

After a second. "I agree with Brainwave, we need to leave. Tefe, thank you, I can still feel the poison but given the magical taint that's a harder lock to pick. We need to leave now."

He sees Corrine over him. Missed you..."He then looked towards Dr. Fate. Hector, can you get us all back to base? We can fix things from there better, I think...""

Sand then falls unconscious again.

Fate's magic follows the current of Brainwave's psionic rapport, linking all of them in a golden light.

And in an instant, once he is certain he is linked to everyone, they vanish, apparating instantly in the Outsiders' base.

"And now, Gemma, we must see about reversing this spell."
