Power Girl normally didn’t like sitting on top of the Daily Planet, right under the globe, since she felt that that place - more than any other - was rightfully Superman’s, but there were days like this one when she just liked to come here and relax, and take in all of Metropolis’ daytime beauty. Most cities usually became even more beautiful at night. Metropolis was different in that respect. No matter what time of day or night it was, the city had a charming sort of beauty that was uncommon with most cities of Metropolis’ size.
Kara brushed back a lock of her chin-length blonde hair as she finished off the last of her hot dog. She was a little disturbed, today. It was something that Despero had said to her
during her fight with him earlier. Something about secrets that she was denying herself.
What could that be, though? Kara herself wasn’t sure, but Despero, damn him, had seemed overtly sure of something. Had he been lying to her, trying to distract her so she would lose her guard? Or had he really read something in her that she didn’t know about?
Her frustration made her want to go out and kick something’s butt from here to Tokyo, but there was nothing. No sign of trouble. Metropolis, while not without its share of crime, was never quite as crime-ridden as Gotham City, where Kara definitely couldn’t go to take her frustrations out.
Maybe if I moved back to New York…
She sighed. Looked like this was going to be really quiet day.
