How does the little crocodile...

Jervis Tetch doesn't get bored.

He's a genius, for pete's sake. He's busy, especially finishing up this last thing Two-Face needs.

And yet here it is, two am in the morning, and he can think of nothing to do.

Can't sleep. Not in the mood to work. Just feeling lethargic.

He doesn't even feel like re-reading one of his books.

It's a disgrace, but Jervis Tetch is watching two am television. With tea.

He almost wishes the Bat would show up and end him right now.

And of course, how can this get any worse, but the TV decides to show a special on something called, "CapeCon." A giant convention that happened a few months ago, big superhero thing. It's absolutely disgusting, the way everyone just fawns all over these people.

He's getting ready to turn it off--or at least change the channel--when someone he doesn't recognize appears on screen.

"And here we have Flamebird, of the Teen Titans! A relatively newer member, Flamebird is a talented acrobat and gymnast, with an arsenal of various gadgets and 'bolos.' She seems to be taking the Titans by storm, however, so look for more of her as time goes on!"

The camera leaves the convention floor, and instead shows some small blips of news clips featuring the Titans, and Flamebird in particular. Flipping, rolling, fighting...

She's so lithe, so nimble. Even better than the old Batgirl that used to be around.

She's a bit old, and the blonde hair could go, but other than that...She's perfect. An air of innocence and naivete, a girlish charm, and for someone doing gymnastic maneuvers into the faces of random thugs, she even seems dainty.

It's all Jervis can do to stare at the TV until the montage is over, and the bimbo amateur newscaster starts talking about some other super-twat who's only got enough spandex to cover her unmentionables.

But Jervis doesn't care. Jervis has ideas, and where he has ideas, he will inevitably have action.

Oh, Alice...

mad hatter, the cuckoo's nest, flamebird
