I went to Vassar this past Monday, and the campus is absolutely gorgeous. The weather was great, and the tour guides weren't boring. They were actually pretty funny. They reminded me of my friends up here. While we were on the tour, there was this hawk or eagle, and it just flew about 2 feet in front of me about a foot from the ground, and back up into the trees. That was so cool. I swear, if I reached out I could have touched it. The campus was really amazing. The science tour guide was a major in biochem, and was going into premed, but started out as a biology major, so we got to see his lab. They get their own labs! That was really amazing. He like, had his own room in which to store his specimens, and his own equipment, and the room was entirely his. He had his own key to the room and everything. That was cool.
This Wednesday was our last match of the regular season. I broke 3 strings on my racquet during warm up, so I had to borrow one of the girls from Albany's racquets. I won 6-4 6-0. It was a bitter sweet ending. I'm glad that we ended on a victory, but I'm kind of depressed that it was the last highschool team tennis match that I will ever play. Individual sectionals are on Wednesday at Central Park (thats in Schenectady for those of you who don't know), and I told Coach I wanted to play doubles. I want this to be the best one yet. Anyone who wants to should come and watch, if you can get up that early.
And this Saturday I'm volunteering at Thacher Park for the Fall Festival. It goes from 10am-4pm so stop by if you have some free time. I'll probably be there the whole time so come and keep me entertained! I have no idea what I'm doing yet in regards to exactly what I'm doing, but it give me NHS hours, and its outside, so how could I say no? I'll probably be cold while I'm there, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
