New takes on an old benchmark

Question posed to me:

What the most amount of network accessible storage we can get into a FedEx box to ship somewhere? Open box, power on, plug in network, access data.

A take on the "minivan full of backup tapes has the best bandwidth across large distances" idea.

This led to "What's the fastest way to move say 10 TB of data 200 meters?" This is longer than the spec on maximum length of commodity copper fiber for gigabit transfer rates.

Trebuchet. Need to go farther than say 2-400 meters? Multi-Hop point-to-point Trebuchet Mesh Network - Trebumesh.

Those pigeons doing TCP should watch out for crosstalk.
