Yesterday we went to see
Bonaparte play at the Brandenburger Tor. I had not heard of them before but a friend recommended them kind of last minute and so we went.
Bonaparte showed the (probably) most electric performance I've ever seen. Dancers seemed to poor out of every corner of the stage. Well... "Dancing"? "Cabaret"? Crazy! They changed costumes so frequently that it took a while to realize who's who because they kept looking differently whenever you didn't pay attention to every single one of them. Dancers and band alike. So it's hard to tell how many people were on stage after all.
Most impressing were the two drummers, playing incredibly tight throughout the whole concert. In one song they had minute long solos that both of them were playing first alternating but finally together without ever losing sync. WOW! From videos on youtube I never saw them play with two drummers so I assume they're saving that for large stages like the one at the Brandenburger Tor.
Oh.. and their musical style? Hard to tell.... but they were definitely influenced by the Beasty Boys. But that comes along with the rhythm and the style of "singing" I guess.
