Contrary to popular belief, I'm not dead yet. Not even undead...darn it.
I'm still editing CRIMSON SWAN and will be for a while but at least I no longer feel as though I have to kill myself in order to get it done. I can just mortally wound myself and still achieve the same results.
Got some not-so-happy-and-yet-not-so-unexpected-nor-unwelcomed news, folks: (Hang on a sec. Let me pop in my earplugs for the collective shrill scream that's about to occur. There...now on to the announcement.)
CRIMSON SWAN's publication/release has been pushed back from Fall 2009 to Spring 2010.
(Pause for massive screamfest to subside.)
I won't go into details, but this change doesn't come as a total surprise. Yes, I'm a little bummed about the change. However, I'm trying to look on the bright side. (I know...bright side...vampires...not a smart idea...spontaneous combustion...blah blah blah. ) First of all, I now have an extra couple of weeks to work on the edits, which is good considering I'm going into the final weeks of grad school and will be graduating the first week of December. Second, the extra time for edits will insure that CRIMSON SWAN is the best darn book it can be, which is good for me as an author and good for you as readers. Third, I'll have a couple of extra months for promotional work, meaning more time to think up really cool ways to entice all of you to buy the book. (Just wait until you see what I have in store.... Y'all are gonna flip. )
Speaking of enticement... I can now confirm a rumor that yes, I will indeed be attending CONvergence in Bloomington, MN the weekend of July 3-5, 2009. This is the weekend before ThrillerFest, so I'll be hanging out in the Twin Cities area an extra day (July 6) before traveling to NYC for ThrillerFest. (If you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and want to say "Hi!" -- here's your chance. ) I'll be participating in panel discussion at CONvergence and will let everyone know more about those as details are finalized.
I have some other balls in the air but until they either land or bonk me in the head, I'm going to keep them under wraps for now. (See...more enticement.)
That's it for now. Muse and I will available for questions in the coffee room immediately following this post.
