Of Dentists and Diabetic Clinics

Mar 13, 2013 16:24

I have returned home.

The dentist appointment was not as bad as I feared it would be. The dentist took x-rays of my jaws, and found there are no cavities or abcesses of any kind, though he did find that my left jaw and the whole area up to my ear are swollen. He believes it's a muscle problem of some sort, but to be on the safe side, he's referring me to an oral surgeon to check out a few other things.

I went straight from the dentist to the Diabetes Clinic and the appointment I had there at 3:00 pm. Or so I thought. When I got there, the Diabetes Clinic on the 4th floor was closed up tight, and I learned from one of the few folks on the floor that it was closed for March break, and the appointment had been moved to the 20th of March, a week later, at the same time. Supposedly, a letter was sent out in September, 2012 informing me of this fact - but I never received the letter. :( If I had, I would have changed the date on the appointment card, which I didnt. Was quite annoyed, and felt rushed and all.

By the time I left the hospital, it was close to ten past 3, and so I went over to the Tim Horton's near my home and had some lunch. I had a grilled cheese panini with a bowl of potato & bacon soup, with a bottle of water, and it was quite tasty though I'm not in any position at the moment to talk about the taste of food.

By the time I finished lunch and got back home, it was just after 4:00 pm, and I was exhausted not to mention a bit achy and coughing again in the chest. I've washed up and had a cup of tea, and I'm going to lie down and rest for a bit.
