We continue on today with #RPGaDay2024 for August.
Day 26 - Superb Screen
I'm going to start today's blog entry based on the prompt by saying that I find GM Screens useful for keeping the game adventure out of the players' line of sight, but I don't use GM Screens to hide dice rolls and the like for the most part. For me, the GM Screen is a place to have all the charts, tables, and other useful information for the game in question without having to flip through the rulebook to them constantly. (My memory is not what it was 30 years ago!) And I prefer landscape GM Screens rather than portrait ones, as one can at least see the players over the top of the former, whereas the latter are too tall when I'm sitting at the table. :)
With that out of the way... there have been some good GM Screens put out by various publishers for their roleplaying games, but my favorite Gamemaster Screen is the customiseable one put out by various places, notably Chessex and a few other places (I think the folks whom publish Savage Worlds did one of these, too). Landscape, with six pockets or sleeves - three panels for player images and a game logo graphic on the outside, and three panels for GM charts and notes. Perfect! :)
And there you have it, my thoughts on this twenty-sixth day of #RPGaDay for August, 2024.
Comments, thoughts, questions, etc. are all welcome, of course. :)
