As noted in an earlier post today, this is the start of the long Victoria Day weekend here in Canada and today would have been the start of the local gaming convention,
CanGames, here. However, due to (the sixth wave of) COVID-19 wreaking havoc on the world still, the convention for this year is off once more. Though I'll be gaming with the Sunday gaming group this weekend, I've been feeling a bit out of sorts in terms of what to do for the weekend.
So last night (Thursday), I got a pleasant surprise. The Friday players decided that they're having so much fun in their
Atlantis: The Second Age RPG campaign, and knowing that it's normally the CanGames weekend, that they want to play an extra session this weekend even though it's their normal week off from gaming. As a result, I'll be gaming with the Friday night group this evening, and the players should be showing up in about an hour or so. I'm looking forward to it. With the rise in the number of cases of the Omicron variant COVID bug (and the reduction in restrictions and some of the mandates), the Friday night gamers want to play this evening, but we'll be taking the appropriate health precautions tonight as the group decides on when they get here, as per usual. I'll likely wear a mask gaming this evening, given my own health concerns at the moment, and whether the players do so as well will be a game time decision. Everyone wants to game, but knows we have to play it safe in this time of the continuing pandemic. And our own ongoing health concerns.
Tonight, the Friday night gamers will continuing on with their
Atlantis: The Second Age campaign and this terrific sword & sorcery rpg. I'm thrilled and over the moon about this! :) Means I'll be gaming twice this weekend. While
CanGames won't be happening this long weekend, at least I'll be getting a couple of gaming sessions in.
In the meantime, I need to go upstairs and make some supper.
Have a good evening, folks. :)
