Just got home from the computer shoppe I mentioned in an earlier post, having taken in the laptop for diagnosis (and possibly repair). So this LJ post is being written in retrospective, as will be all of the other LJ posts from this point on until I have a functional, wireless capable computer once more.
I'm somewhat tired, as it's been a long day, and I'm a bit stressed out on account of the computer business (since I spent a good chunk of Sunday night backing up the most important stuff off the computer to a flash drive).
The fellow at the computer shoppe was pretty kind about matters, and told me that he'd get back to me as soon as he could do so, but didn't figure it would be until Wednesday or so, so patience is a virtue and all that. Hopefully, the diagnosis on the laptop won't cost me too much money, so we'll see how that shakes out. (I'm a bit short on cash at the moment, what with
CanGames coming up and all.) I'm not holding out too much hope that he'll be able to fix the problem, as I use Linux Ubuntu on the system, and not too many folks in the computer repair business know that operating system too well (or so it seems to me).
Anyway, I plan to spend the evening sorting out some of the paperwork for this weekend's
CanGames stuff, maybe watch a couple of episodes of something on the PVR, and read a couple of chapters of my current read (which I can't remember at the moment, so it's obviously not noteworthy stuff). Amazing how much other stuff I'm getting done when I'm not able to spend time on the laptop at home!
