Sunday Thoughts, and Gaming Not On Today

Jul 26, 2015 09:12

It's Sunday morning.

The end of the weekend, and the start of what seems to be a period of very hot, possibly humid weather (with temperatures in the 30oC-plus degree range). (Not that I'll be worrying about the weather here in Ottawa for much of the week, as I'll be spending it in Indianapolis, but that's another matter.) I managed to get a decent night's sleep last night, about 7+ hours all told, and feel somewhat better from that. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do for your attitude.

Gaming is not on for today, as I've got stuff that I need to do around the house before I head off for GenCon on Tuesday, and since I'm working on Monday (tomorrow), I need to get a large part of the packing done today, if I can figure out how to pack some of the stuff I need to take with me. One of the things I'm struggling with in terms of the packing is the stuff I need to run the Primeval games that I'll be running on Friday and Saturday at the convention. Between the stuff for the adventure I need to take and the actual rulebook itself, we're talking 10 lbs. (!!) right there; as most who fly know, there are restrictions on how much weight the checked-in suitcase can be, so I need to figure out a solution for this. The main weight of this gaming stuff is the actual rulebook itself. I've got a couple of possible solutions, so we'll see how things shake out.

Insofar as the Sunday game is concerned, I regret that I won't be running Atlantis: The Second Age today, but truth be told, I need the rest away from gaming for a couple of days, and I'm still recovering from the bronchitis bug that I've got (not to mention the allergy problems). The day off, other than packing issues, is definitely a priority today.

Time for a morning cup of herbal tea, peppermint I think. And then a bit of puttering around the house.
