Last night, the Friday night game continued their play of the River of Heaven RPG campaign they've got going. Here is the write-up on that game session. You can read about the previous game session in this journal entry. Since this post is quite long, I've put it behind a cut for those who don't want to read about the roleplaying game campaigns ( Read more... )

Sounds like a pretty good session, other than the winter chill weather that could of hampered it.

Yeah, it was a fun game session. Players had a good time, too! :)

And I'm rather tired of this bizarre March weather that we seem to be having.

I like reading your recap of the sessions. It's a good read.

Though, the session you are running reminds me of one of the adventures that I went through with Traveller many, many moons ago. Docked at a place trying to leave the ship and being comforted by the security. A search of the ship to see if there is any "illegal contraband" and what not, a little fisticuff action.... my character lost three teeth in that one.

I just might have to pick up a copy of the game, eventually. ;)

I'm glad that you enjoy the recaps of the game sessions. Nice to know that they read well.

Truth be told, I tend to recycle game material from stuff that I've run or stuff that I've read, and the session above is an example of that. I don't remember it from any TRAVELLER games I played or run, but I know I did something similar in UNIVERSE at some point. The whole purpose of the session in the early going of any game that I'm running is to get the characters feeling their oats (so to speak) and give them a simple plot to start with. There are ramifications coming about the guy who set up the Blue Daphne for a fall, trust me. :)
