I woke up this morning, wishing I hadn't.
I had a run-in with a hat stand last night, through my own stupidity and not watching where I was going, while chasing my goddaughter around before gaming, and lost. I caught the two end toes on my right foot, my driving foot, on the edge of the hat stand, and have definitely broken both. Cut the toe next to the pinkie as well, so there's been some bleeding overnight, but that's not the real problem.
Back in the days before insulin, I had a mild (okay, slight more than mild) case of neuropathy in my toes. However, since I started insulin therapy most of the neuropathy has gone away, and this is unfortunate. My foot and those toes are hurting me something fierce, and while the painkillers help somewhat, they don't help enough. Add to that my low pain threshold, and... well, you get the idea. :<
In any event, there are things I need to do today, depending on the weather, so I just hope that I can walk without too much difficulty today.
