nostalgia

I forgot to say the other thing I loved in this week's GG was when we overheard Lorelai and the girls chanting, "Light as a feather, stiff as a board." Man, that takes me back. I can't even tell you the number of times my friends and I played that at slumber parties.

But you know, one of the things that was 'inauthentic' about that episode was that a fight didn't break out sometime during the night. I don't think that I ever experienced a slumber party without being involved in a fight, or taking sides during a fight, or mediating a fight. A fight always broke out. There's just something about getting a bunch of pre-teen girls together that brings out the petty bickering. Why is that?

Which reminds me...I have been DVR'ing My So-Called Life lately. That show holds up incredibly well; it really stands the test of time. And it makes me so nostalgic for the days of flannel shirts and overalls and boots and Toad the Wet Sprocket. ::loves::

I'm really showing my age, aren't I? Longing for the days of grunge! Like I could find a way to more clearly say, "I am a child of the 90s!" Hee.

Yeah, I clearly didn't know what I was going to post about today.
