chameleon circuits

My first LJ mobile post from a borrowed BlackBerry: I was watching Torchwood, which tivo spontaneously recorded, and was struck by something Jack says about the perception filter attached to the secret elevator. He tells Gwen that he thinks a chameleon circuit welded itself to the Rift - and I realized that Jack is totally lying and that he knows exactly what caused it, because he was in the Tardis the day it landdd to recharge on the Rift, on that exact spot. I was about to put on Boomtown in the interest of checking the refernce, and was scribbling down Jack's jargon-heavy explanation so that I could post this discovery to LJ when the power abruptly went out, in the house and apparently through the neighborhood. It was alarmingly creepy timing.

It's always so shocking when the power goes out, especially at night. Everything went completely black, and it was a few fumbling minutes before I found the flashlight and eventually the candles, which provided a feeble but comforting light through the first floor of the house. When I'd finally arranged the tiny tea lights in high places to provide maximum coverage, the power came back on, shocking me with flourescent light, the roar of the aquarium powerhead and filter, and the chorus of tivo and the computer rebooting. The candles seemed like decorations.

Cable and internet remain out, hence the borrowed moble posting. If there's something out there messing with space-time tonight, I expect I should be thankful that it's only causing a few outages and not for history to be reset or anything. If my house is invisible now, though, I might have to register a complaint.
