Allow me to recreate my afternoon exercise bike riding and television watching. Today's showing, In the Beginning, from where I left off last time.
B5 Movie: Dukhat addresses the Grey Council.
Me: OMG DUKHAT! *wavy hands*
B5 Movie: Delenn unveils herself.
Me: OMG DELENN! *wavy hands*
B5 Movie: Delenn and Dukhat have a moment where Dukhat speaks in riddles and touches Delenn's shoulder. A little while later, Delenn repeats Dukhat's riddle back to him when he asks her why she's investigating the thing he's trying to keep secret, and then Delenn calls him on the secret and Dukhat gets even more cryptic and then they both smile at each other.
Me: OMG FLAIL! *pedals way too fast*
B5 Movie: The scene from Atonement where we watch Dukhat die and Delenn scream out "No mercy" plays.
Me: OMG HOW MANY TIMES IS THIS SHOW GOING TO MAKE ME WATCH DUKHAT DIE?!
I am amazed by and will have more things to say later about how this show manages to fold back in on itself in so many ways, and to tell the same story over and over and yet somehow expand that story every time, but right now I've worked up an appetite and it's time for red beans and rice and some veggie tacos.
