The apple cake was rather a disaster, because, apparently, the recipe and I have different ideas of what constitutes "cake." The recipe seems to think a flour mixture poured over chopped apples makes cake. I think that's much more in the crisp family. Anyway, it was too late to turn back, so now I have an apple-cake-crisp thing that goes well with a cup of coffee.
I was feeling classical today and wanted to listen to Handel's Messiah, and I was dismayed to find out I only have a CD of the highlights of Handel's Messiah. So if any of you have the whole recording and want to share, please let me know.
Also, I'm always on the lookout for versions of Carol of the Bells, my favorite Christmas song. Most of the ones on the holiday compilation discs just aren't haunting enough - and too few have actual hand-bells in them. So, keep an eye out for me, would you? I'll save you a piece of the apple-crispy-cake thing.
