This is a *terrible* picture. but it's the only one you can actually see the tooth progress in.  Gap-be-gone.   You can't see it, but there's a "permanent retainer" cemented behind my two front teeth.  Apparently, gaps as big as mine was have a tendency to come back.  you also can't make out the blue and purple rings around the brackets.

Well, I bit the bullet. Or anyway, the wire. I am now all wired up. orthodontist also filed down the chipped front teeth. Which took all of four minutes and didn't hurt at all. I mean, not at all. Not even a tiny bit. So much for years of chipped tooth. People on my FL will not recognize me when it's done. For reminders, here is "before."

Well, I went to the orthodontist today, and guess what?  He *doesn't* get to pick the winner!  the radio station does that.  Which means either they'll do it at random, or they basically already know.
