Just discovered today that the comics blog The Mindless Ones is doing a series on Doctor Who entitled "Fifty Stories for Fifty Years" - doing a post on one story from each year of the programme's life (although they seem to have missed out 1966 and I don't know what they're going to do when they get to 1990). Well, I'm a whole fourteen hours into 2012 and nothing bad has happened yet. That's something, right? Set your sights low enough and you will never be disappointed, I guess.

Anyway, I hope all of you are having a similarly good new year up to now. And without wanting to tempt fate or anything, best wishes to all of you for the rest of it.

I don't know, I find myself wanting to say (or type) a few words, just to mark the ending of what was, for me, one of the genuine pleasures in television over the past few years. Yes, I'm referring to the Sarah Jane Adventures, which as you probably know, came to an end yesterday, almost certainly, like its star, before its time.
