Juno

Tacitly, Juno is a movie about a teenage girl who becomes pregnant. Moreover it is an honest comedy about youth, friendship, love and being true. Not flippantly funny like Knocked Up, but earnestly so. It conforms well to the Aristotlian Definition of Tragedy in so far as you are drawn into the emotions of the characters and should be able to relate to their many flaws and idiosyncracies. It is the inside story that you already knew. But mostly, it simply is. It doesn't preach, it observes and there I think is the strength. Each actor does a tremendous job, from the lead, playing Juno, to Jennifer Anniston, who I had a great difficultly placing, as she does a great job playing the role of obsessive expectant mother, who is frightening from scene-to-scene. It is a celebration of humanity. I highly recommend it.
