Madrigal event

Had a good time at the Madrigal event. Didn't get to do nearly enough fighting, and I think I was fighting off a cold or something because I randomly fell over early both nights ('early' being 2AM and 1AM respectively), which was annoying to me. Weather was pretty awful, basically various forms of slush fell from the sky from Saturday afternoon ( Read more... )

larp, weather, madrigal

I just loved time with Gabrielle this weekend. It was such a shift from the norm and I'm sure I'll pay for the familiarity in the long run, but it will have been so worth it. Hmmmm, unless she gets named queen in which case I'll have a royal "friend". That could be good too.

You looked so sad asking for help with packets. That was indeed a nasty job. Picking up the cold, wet, frozen, muddy, gunky, icky packets (yeah, all of those states existed at various points) while trudging around in the snow without boots and carrying around a bag that was getting heavier and heavier absolutely sucked. I'm glad we could save staff from that miserable task. And Melissa and I got to have some quality hang-out time, so there was a bonus there.

I am so sorry to drag you into the packet-collecting party, but when RJC is begging me to get PCs to do it, you know it's pretty bad. At least you got some hang out time with Melissa...

It was hilarious watching the tragic expressions on people's faces as they ran through the various candidates and realized they didn't like any of them.

(It probably only mirrored the various expressions staff made as *we* ran through the various candidates who were already defined and IG...)

Oddly, packet recovery isn't nearly so bad when you have a friend to chat with. It was also awesome to get to show Sam the track of the Shetra fight outside ("Here you can see where we hedgehogged like pros, here is the path down the hill and through the woods, here is where the shetra died and his legs fell off..."). It was worth it to save you guys from having to do it later.

I am glad having company made it less-bad, and THANK YOU so much for jumping on that grenade... (The play-by-play tour sounds kinda hilarious, too.)

Oh. God. The TERRIBLE candidates ;) You can't imagine my UTTER relief after talking to the Prince at dinner.

Yeah, they were all somewhat issue-filled. What was even funnier is that they'd all talk freely about their various issues, there just wasn't any way around the fact that *someone* had to take the throne.

Yeah, the packets in the road were squalid and disgusting, I have to admit... but I've been there at cleanup time, and in your puppy dog eyes I could see the horrible vision of like two of you picking up packets in a listless and broken fashion, alone, on an empty campsite as the sun went down... and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, let alone people who just gave me a fun larp weekend.

Also, getting in some fun chatting time with Rick was so great that it was almost worth it!

Thank you so much for jumping on that grenade... and I was glad when I saw you and Rick walking off together, in that at least it wasn't going to be one person by themselves doing that awful job...
