ah, well...
i came across a wonderful book - a sort of "transpersonalization," if i will ( and i will ) a cross between not-quite-a-translation and not-quite-a-personal-interpretation by Thomas Merton on the writings of
Chuang Tzu. As a bit of personal interest, i kinda like that he includes in text and in spirit much of what i am most fond of about Chuang Tzu.
Perhaps
jocularity is what i find in common between the two of them at their most connected moments of understanding and insight? but of course i feel this gaiety is the same spirit tied together with the balance of not-quite-this-ness and not-quite-that-ness that leaves the delightful question hanging on an open smile of wonder, perfectly appropriate to the nature of Tao.
