New Costume?

Here's the thing about me. Every time I think I've gotten my costume figured out something else happens to mess up my plans. I'm going to be in a parade this Saturday. The thing is really all I have compelted are Leia costumes, and Cher is already Leia. I don't want to bring another Leia, we need more characters. I had this in the Tega Cay Parade and that is why I made White Battle Padme. But that needs MAJOR revamping and I don't feel comfortable in it. I feel really big.

So I could go as a Jedi, but my belt SUCKS. I've never told anoyone where that belt came from lol. Its kinda a no-no in the RL and 501st, but I feel so awkward with it I don't want to wear it. And I feel big in my Imperial Officer.

So...I need an easy costume that I can make without spending hundreds of $$$. Something that is recognizable as Padme, but is something I can wear in a padade. So I came up with this costume:

I never really gave this costume much thought, but as I've sudied it I've really come to like it. I think it might be a good idea to make it. For one I think I'd feel more comfortable in it than the battle. Two, its relatively simple. And three, its not just a Padme costume, its a handmaiden costume which means I probably could wear it during Star Wars Weekends.

The problems- the time. No this won't get done for the parade, but I can work on it after. The problem is doing this would greatly push back my picnic gown, which has already been pushed back b/c of school. Two, the money. If I can find fabric at Hancock's and get it for 40% off it won't be a problem, but if I can't find the right kind I probably can't do it...

So at this point I'm debating on whether or not to do it. I think it looks like a fun and comfortable costume. Hmm...
