Last Sarah Palin Update of the Day

Sep 05, 2008 20:47

A senior McCain campaign official advises that, despite the gaggle of requests and pressure from the media, Gov. Sarah Palin won’t submit to a formal interview anytime soon. She may take some questions from local news entities in Alaska, but until she’s ready - and until she’s comfortable - which might not be for a long while - the media will have to wait.

Translation: they are terrified of allowing their VP pick to talk to anyone about the issues without following a predetermined, approved script.

Further translation: Sarah Palin has no clue what she is talking about, can not think on her feet and needs to be protected at all times.

Oy vey.  Seriously.  At least we don't have to worry about Joe Biden making an ass of himself with reporters.

Never mind the job of the press is to bring information to the public.  Never mind the press did a better vetting job on Palin than McCain did.  Never mind this restricts the freedom of the press, not to mention keeps information away from the people.  Terribly convenient, don't you think, especially after the Repubs attacked the press during the RNC for "vicious" attacks on the governor.

(PS-with roughly 60 days until the election, I wonder just how long this "long while" might be.  Ten bucks says she never speaks to any reputable press.  This just keeps getting better...)
