It's been a week since school started! it is truly amazing how I survived. What's worse, the first week is supposedly the easiest week! I am absolutely, and completely screwed. hmm
Orchestra is my first class for two hours, and we're doing Beethoven 5th symphony and Jennifer Higdon piece. I was truly amazed at how good the orchestra was compared to what I was used to. I'm feeling more and more out of place being 4th chair.. I need to work on that haha
After that it's Old Republic, and the teacher is amazing and different... I feel like I'm in a philosophy class instead of history, which is really cool.
Russian Literature is really cool, I think. We are learning russian history right now, but I'm really excited to learn brothers karamazov.
Advanced math is hard... For the first time, I had difficulty understanding math, but it was because I've never worked with functions as I remember, and it's all functions. Thankfully, I've homehow taught myself by doing homework, and the teacher is really nice, so she helped me out too.
Chemistry is interesting, we haven't done too much, bt I hve a feeling it's going to be a lot of lab work.
chamber. Our group is raelly good. 1st chair cellist, 1st chair violist, really good violinist who missed audition, so he's sitting in the back, but is really good, and then.. there's me. why is it that I keep ending up in groups and places where I feel like I shouldn't be there becaues I'm not good enough? Really, the repertoire of the students here are amazing. I'll be working relaly really really hard haha
my lesson was good. he fixed my bow hand, and now i can't play, but hopefully it'll be ok soon. He wants me to prepare 3 etudes and a page of scale memorized. the etudes are killers. one is all octaves which i absolutely despise, one is pretty much all double stops, and the other one is a whole lot of fast notes. *sigh*
better go practice since I have lesson on tuesday and I have none of the etudes ready haha oh shootness.
well, have fun everyone~
